From the Beginning to the Present

Innovation, Lighting, Safety: three words, one company.

In 1996, graduate Mechanical Engineer Stergios Aslanidis laid the foundations for the company ZINCOMETAL, an evolution of the mechanical applications company TEMKAT-ST. ASLANIDIS LLC, which was founded in 1983.

After four decades of focusing on the design, manufacture and sale of integrated systems and solutions in the fields of lighting masts and poles, LED lighting fixtures, vehicle restraint systems under EN 1317, and hot dip galvanizing under EN 1461, ZINCOMETAL has become a leader in its sector in Greece, plays a key role in the Balkans, and is continuously expanding its operations and sales in the European market.

From the 10th kilometre of the Kilkis-Polykastro motorway, where its facilities covering 35,000 square metres are located, the company exports to more than 25 countries in Europe and Africa, and its products are present in every major project constructed or under construction in Greece: from the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to the Egnatia Odos motorway, the PATHE motorway, the 14 regional airports of Greece, the Ionia Odos motorway, the Patras-Pyrgos motorway, the Thessaloniki Flyover project, Al Bidda Park square in Qatar, Ibrahim Rugova square in Pristina, the square of the ultra-modern NDK (National Palace of Culture) building in Sofia, Bulgaria, the TAP pipeline, and currently, the Hellenikon project.

Its vertical production plant in the Kilkis area features state-of-the-art machinery, the longest (13,000mm) and most modern hot-dip galvanizing plant in the Balkans, and three electrostatic powder-coating plants on its privately owned plots covering 120,000 square metres. In addition to its main facilities, the company maintains a presence through offices and showrooms in Athens and Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and operates a second production unit in Sliven, Bulgaria.

ZINCOMETAL places great emphasis on two key areas: its skilled workforce, the "heart" of its operations, and its R&D department, the "source" of its innovation. More specifically, the company employs workers primarily from the Kilkis area, as its goal is to support the local community, and it has created a high-level Research and Development Department that sets the company's innovative pace.

ZINCOMETAL develops a wide range of innovative products and solutions, including:

- Passive safety masts under EN 12767
- Autonomous solar lighting systems

- Components for electricity transmission and distribution networks
- Hot-dip galvanizing under EN 1461

In fact, it is the first and only Greek company to produce and market passive safety masts certified under the EN 12767 European standard, offering vehicle drivers and passengers additional safety in the event the vehicle veers off course and impacts lighting masts.

The smart lighting fixtures under the ZINLUX Lighting brand are manufactured within a fully automated production process, through the collaboration of robotic systems and human operators, a unique approach in Greece.
